Do I need to install anything?

No. The visualizer runs entirely in your browser using the built-in Web Audio API and Canvas API. Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari all support it.

Why does the browser ask for microphone permission?

Mic mode uses getUserMedia to capture audio from your microphone. The permission prompt is a browser security requirement. No audio is recorded or sent anywhere.

What audio file formats are supported?

Any format your browser can decode — typically MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, and FLAC. The file is decoded in memory; nothing is uploaded to a server.

What is the difference between bar and waveform mode?

Bar mode shows the frequency spectrum (FFT) — how much energy is present at each frequency band. Waveform mode shows the raw time-domain signal, the classic oscilloscope view of the sound wave shape.

What is the circular/radial mode?

Radial mode maps the frequency bars around a circle so each bar radiates outward from the centre. It creates a visually striking flower or starburst pattern that reacts to music.

Visualize sound in real time directly in your browser. Connect your microphone for live input or upload an audio file to analyse it. Choose from three visualization modes: a classic frequency bar chart, a time-domain waveform, or a radial/circular bar layout. Pick a colour theme — neon, sunset, ocean, or monochrome — and toggle between mic and file mode at any time. All processing uses the Web Audio API; no audio data ever leaves your device.

2 Select a visualization mode: Bars, Waveform, or Radial.
3 Pick a colour theme from the theme selector.
4 For file mode, press Play to start playback and see the visualizer animate.
5 Switch modes or themes at any time — the visualizer updates instantly.
6 Click 'Stop' to pause the microphone or audio playback.
