How many words are in the built-in word list?

The tool uses approximately 3,000 of the most common English words. This covers everyday vocabulary well for puzzles and games, though very rare or archaic words may not be included.

What does the 'must contain' field do?

If you enter letters in the 'must contain' field, only words that include all of those letters (using letters from your main input) will be shown. For example, entering 'e' means every result must contain the letter E.

Can I use duplicate letters?

Yes. If you enter the same letter more than once (e.g., 'aab'), words using up to that many of each letter will be included. For instance, 'aa' allows words with two A's.

Are proper nouns included?

No. The word list contains only common lowercase English words. Proper nouns, names, and abbreviations are excluded.
