The Optimal Recognition Point is the character about 30% from the left of a word. Fixing your gaze on it lets your brain decode the whole word instantly.

How fast should I start?

Begin at 200-300 WPM (close to normal reading speed) and gradually increase as your comprehension stays high.

Does speed reading hurt comprehension?

At extreme speeds (700+ WPM) comprehension drops for most people. Use the built-in quiz to find your sweet spot.

Speed Reading Trainer uses Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) to help you read faster by flashing one word at a time at your chosen WPM. The Optimal Recognition Point (ORP) — 30% from the left of each word — is highlighted in red so your eye stays fixed. Choose a sample passage or paste your own text, set your WPM from 100 to 1000, then read. After finishing you get a comprehension quiz. Chunk mode shows 2-3 words at a time for a natural feel.

使い方

1 Paste your text or choose a sample passage.
2 Set your target WPM with the slider (start low and build up).
3 Press Start to begin RSVP — red-highlighted letter marks the ORP.
4 Use Pause / Resume as needed; Reset returns to the beginning.
5 After finishing, answer the comprehension questions to check retention.
