Which browsers support the EyeDropper API?

Chrome 95+, Edge 95+, and Opera 81+ support the EyeDropper API. Firefox and Safari do not yet support it, but a manual HEX input fallback is provided.

Can I pick colors outside the browser window?

Yes — the EyeDropper API lets you sample colors from any part of your screen, including other applications and the desktop.

How many colors are saved in history?

The last 10 picked colors are stored in your browser's localStorage so they persist between sessions.

How do I use the fallback on unsupported browsers?

On unsupported browsers a manual HEX input is shown. Enter any valid 6-digit hex color code and press Enter to see all format conversions.

About this tool

How to use
